Iconotech is a software for organizing radiological (medical imaging) teaching files, integrating DICOM or JPEG images in a database. Iconotech is able to serve teaching files on Internet by Web or to send them by e-mail, to buid a case collection with an aim of education to create an e-learning in an University, going even until the concept of virtual medicine or simulation of medicine.

Yves Gandon, M.D. University of Rennes I - France Iconotech is a teaching file authoring tool initially dedicated for radiological department. Iconotech is a DICOM software. The DICOM browser and viewer are free. Other DICOM functions (communication by network) are time restricted. An export function allows to convert a subset of DICOM images in various images format (JPEG, GIF, BMP, PICT) which can be automatically integrated in Powerpoint slides or to submit complete cases to international servers and particularly to the Eurorad online database. Internet functions include a web server and an e-mail client. A powerfull database organizes all information concerning the teaching files and permits multicriteria queries. Iconotech integrates also a medicine simulator module. The purpose of this new function is to place medical students in front of a virtual patient.   Last update: 2004/03/14 - 17h11.
